Client testimonials

We asked some of our clients and their families to provide feedback on their experience in receiving services from Home Instead Senior Care in Gold Coast, Tweed & Northern Rivers. Here is what they had to say:

"Thanks Celia.  Mum likes to have this calendar beside her chair so she can refer to it and then knows what day the girls are coming.  She gets a little confused sometimes. For the record, things are going along very well. We can’t speak highly enough of the care provided to Mum by Michelle and Sylvia. Mum is very comfortable with both of them which in turn takes a lot of worry off my sister and I. Please pass this on to Chris." — Elesa for Joyce.

"My sisters and I wanted to thank you and the team at Homeinstead, Gold Coast, for the wonderful contribution of consistent and dedicated care given to our Mother, Joan who passed away in February this year. The care given by you was of such good quality that our Mum often thought of the carers as her friends. We certainly could have not continued happily in our professions without this quality of care for our Mother. As you are well aware our Mum had extra difficulties being Bi-Polar but this was extremely well handled by your carers. We would be very happy to recommend your services to anyone else, and I can be contacted if you require me to assist in this manner. Thanking you again" — Jan

"Home Instead have provided services looking after my 97 year old grandmother, Hazel, for the last 2-3 years. I first contacted Home Instead when it became very clear that my grandmother, who lived alone, required extra support and help at home. Through these services, my grandmother extended her time in her own home by about 2 years.  Eventually, we had no choice but to have her transferred to a nursing home. As I have lived overseas or interstate for all of this period, I also continue to use Home Instead to visit my grandmother regularly at her nursing home. Against this background, I can not speak highly enough of Home Instead, Steve Patterson, and his carers, particularly Carol. In my absence, they have taken exceptional care of my grandmother and made her twilight years happy and comfortable, and also relieved significant pressures and responsibilities from my grandmother's nephew, Noel. Carol genuinely cares for my grandmother, sings with her, laughs, tells stories and takes emotional and physical care of her.  On occasion where my grandmother has had to be admitted to hospital, Carol is never far away, and Steve is a very regular and constant source of information for me. It is hard to express my gratitude for the wonderful service that Steve and his team provide and for the peace of mind that they bring, knowing that my grandmother has lots of support and care around her." — Kyra Bennett

"Dear Megan
Thank you so much for your feedback about how things are going with Dad.  I know that Dad really likes her though the poor woman must wonder at times.  Dad is such a closed book that it is hard to guess what he’s thinking/feeling at the best of times – and I’ve known him 55 years!  So – all in all, Janet is doing a great job and I’m very grateful for her persistence and patience.  (He does thaw eventually).  It would be nice if she shared a meal with him sometimes but of course, that’s entirely up to her and how she feels.  I think that Dad would enjoy the company and it would all feel a bit  more “normal”.   I know he gets very lonely, and, while he doesn’t say much at any one time, does like to hear other peoples stories. Megan, thank you for your support and interest in Dad.  I truly feel that we are in good hands with Home Instead and you’ve been a wonderful help.  For the first time in months I haven’t been constantly worried about Dad – it’s a great feeling I must say. It’s a fabulous service and you are all very special ladies, many thanks." — Anne

"Dear Chris, I am writing to thank your organisation and in particular your worker ‘Carol’ who cared for my husband Geoff during the period 21st-29th March. Michelle from Carer’s respite set things up for me and as a result I was able to take a much needed break. From the reports I have had back from my husband (and daughter) not to mention walking into my home and finding it was well looked after! I am absolutely impressed and feel very grateful that Carol did such a wonderful job caring for my husband. Thank you all so much for your assistance."

"I don't have Clare's contact details so I would appreciate it if you could pass on this message. When we engaged the services of Home Instead, we were hoping to improve the quality of care our late mother, Barica, would be receiving while in The Terraces, Robina. We were so fortunate that Clare was our mother's carer/helper. While I only had some contact with Clare on the rare occasion I was present during her visits with my mother, I realised that Clare was just the person we wanted to take care of our mother. Clare is a very kind and patient person. While she wasn't familiar with the Croatian culture or the language, she was very considerate to our mother. I think her time with our mother was very beneficial and she acted in the best intersest of our family and mother. I was glad to see Clare at our mother's funeral service. I am sad that I was not able to spend more than a few minutes to talk with her but I am sure she understands that situation. It was heartening to hear Clare say that she knew our mother's favourite hymn by heart, surely having heard it at evey meeting with our mother. I know that the care and consideration Clare showed our mother contributed to her living that much longer. Our mother, being a devout christian, was always longing to leave this earth and be with her God. I am sure she is now where she is meant to be. In my previous career, I know what it is like to be good at your profession, and seldom receive accolades or recognition for your work. I woud very much appreciate you passing on my message to Clare, and our family's thanks for all she did for our mother." Kind regards — Nino

"Sorry I have taken so long to write this things have been so hectic settling uncle bill into the nursing home. I just wanted to say a wonderful "thank you" to the Home Instead girls (especially Carol) who tended to my uncle in the past 12 months. They were both professional and caring and made sure that my uncle was well looked after and cared for. As I live in Brisbane and my uncle lives at Banora Point it eased my mind that he was getting the care and attention that he needed. Again many thanks. I am glad that his doctor recommended your service". — Judy.
